Good News! We will hold our first open meeting of The Rhode Island Tea Party:
On: November 24, 2009, 6:30-8:30 pm
At: The Warwick Public Library, Room 101
600 Sandy Lane, Warwick, RI
The purpose of our meeting is to begin organizing and establishing action plans for the Tea Party’s future. This is a very important meeting and we seek your active participation.
Thanks to the commitment, creativity and energy of our members, The Rhode Island Tea Party has had a very successful start since over 3,000 of us demonstrated at the State House on April 15th. We have made sure that the voice of The People is heard in both Providence and Washington, and we are considered a significant political force. Now we need to build on that foundation and get involved pro-actively in our government to achieve the goals of our mission statement:
“We the People of the RI Tea Party endeavor to promote good government practices by advocating for fiscal responsibility, accountability, and a return to the core principles set forth in our State and US Constitutions by our forefathers.” To achieve this vision we must go far beyond protests. Our strategy is to engage in active citizen governance. It is time for us to roll up our sleeves and get involved in real political action. When we met at the State House in June we told our elected officials, “You work for us.” It is time for us to exercise our right to supervise our government and hold it accountable.
We envision a somewhat decentralized organization of members conducting a variety of projects to accomplish this. You may also contribute your ideas by emailing to: ideas@riteaparty.netWe look forward to seeing you on the 24th! |

I was at the RI Tea Party 1st meeting tonight, Tues., Nov. 24 at the Warwick Library. Was amazed at the amount of people that were there – I counted approximately 130 people or more with some of us standing on the sidelines!
Anyway, I would like to also add, that I forgot or didn’t have time to get this one in and although there were some really good ideas put out, I hope this one can be added to your list:
Someone mentioned about watching the Glenn Beck shows, which I do and am an avid fan of, and his latest promotion to the people who stand behind him is to get out the voter registration drives like ACORN and SEIU did last year for Obama. He said (while we know about the voter fraud issues against ACORN and SEIU), “well, TWO can play at that game!” Not to mean that we should be doing anything fraudulent, but he wants us to get out the voter registrations so as to beat ACORN and SEIU at their own game, legally! He is “splitting” the nation into 7 regions where he will go to the city with the most votes for him to come out to promote voter registrations in our favor. His website, GlennBeck.com on the first page has a place to vote for your own city, and when I got into GlennBeck.com , the link to vote for Providence came up, so I voted for Providence, RI – - – only 44 people so far voted for Providence! Now, from what I saw at that meeting tonight, we can do better than that! If we want to see Glenn Beck come out to Providence by next August to promote voters in our favor to oust our incumbants in Congress and the Senate, then we need more people to vote for Providence, RI on GlennBeck.com . Other cities nearby, like Philidelphia had over 240 votes so far! Now we need to catch up to that for our State!
This would put our Tea Party on the MAP!
So if you want the RI Tea Party to become KNOWN region-wide as well as nation-wide and state-wide, then get this word out to all those people who signed that big sheet of paper at the meeting with emails and tell them to spread the word to get Providence, RI the votes needed for Glenn Beck to get here in August next year to get the voter registration drive in our favor and help promote our RI Tea Party as well! Wouldn’t it be exciting to have Glenn Beck promote our RI Tea Party and to get some of you on TV along with that? Wouldn’t that get a big promotion for the Party and for the people of RI to get registered to vote, too?
I hope this idea will inspire you and the Tea Party to get this word out….and fast!
Thank you!
Our form of government is out of date. With modern technology we no longer need to elect one person to have complete control over the masses. All the issues talked about on this page mean nothing with our current form of government because as you can see the power is not in your hands. We have learned that by electing someone who has the best story with the most money to make decisions for us hasn’t worked out that well. The founders, at the time of creation of this great country, came up with the best way that they could allow liberty to prevail. People who are fighting for “the way the founders wanted it” or for a “real democracy” are pushing for the same thing we have today and nothing will change. I have worked out a form of government where the choice of the majority prevails (its not perfect, nothing is, but I can tell you its 100% better if you believe in liberty).
